What are flame retardant coating systems?

Flame-retardant flame retardant systems are a contact reaction during a fire shower that releases chemical reactions that slow down the existing combustion process in the body / element and exist in any construction or infrastructure project of recent years.
The most common components used in fire protection coatings are aluminum hydroxide, plaster / coating that swells with fire exposure such as SLV or equivalent, and creates an airy insulation layer.
Some of the regulation in Israel is defined by specific standards and guidelines of the fire and rescue system. The standard common to use is Israeli Standard No. 755 or 931. The time interval for delaying combustion in the structure and / or shielding element is a derivative of the fire extinguishing system guidelines for the same structure and the capacity of materials available in the market ranges from 60 to 180 minutes of combustion delay.

The intended coating thickness is determined according to two parameters: the required combustion time delay and the thickness of the infrastructure on which it is applied. In most cases, the plating elements will be constructive such as beams, columns and support walls made of steel or concrete. The mathematical calculation for determining the thickness of the coating takes into account the HP / A cut coefficient, steel profile type, thickness and time of combustion, and can be obtained from material manufacturers / importers.
In the project, specifications for combustion delay systems will be defined by the combustion consultant in combination with the manufacturer / importer of the material and will include complementary accessories such as inflatable collars (for cable transitions) pastes and gum flame retardants and even gypsum boards for interior application.
